GREATER ST. LOUIS IRIS SOCIETY
IRIS SHOW AWARDS & OTHER AWARDS

The Greater St. Louis Iris Society has had at least one iris show annually for many years, and as many as five shows in at least two years. The first recorded iris show results were in 1931 with a first place (best specimen) awarded May 15-17 to W. F. Schregardus for his exhibit of 'Magnifia' (Vilmorin 1919, TB). Show results were sporadically reported from the Spring Flower Show through the years in Garden Life, the newsletter of the St. Louis Horticultural Society. GSLIS spun out of SLHS circa 1950 and show results since then have been reported in the American Iris Society Bulletin and the Region 18 Bulletin, albeit sporadically there as well.

The GSLIS membership has created a variety of memorial awards for the iris shows to honor various people who were active locally and nationally in the iris world. Here is a list of the various awards which you can "click" to find detailed show or other award results through the years.
